Open Question: good Illinois schools for a major in secondary education??

I've been going to community college for two years now, I would like to transfer somewhere in Illinois to be a high school history teacher. I live about 40 min south of Chicago, and I would like to stay somewhat close to home. Is anyone familiar with schools in Illinois? Which ones should I consider?
