The 10 Most Important School Supplies for Teachers
There are a variety of necessary school supplies for teachers to stock up on. This is a starter a list of the top ten:
#1. Permanent markers that are black work well for labeling. You should have a number of them on hand and ready to use.
#2. All sorts of tape will help you with a variety of projects. You can stock masking, scotch, and even clear tape and keep each kind in good supply.
#3. Post it notes are great for organizing things. You can attache them to your papers, as a reminder to yourself, and even on lesson outlines to help as direct a substitute teacher.
#4. To keep worksheets organized, binder clips are great. They are far better than paper clips. You can connect together collected papers too so that nothing gets scattered in the shuffle.
#5.For correcting student’s work, highlighters work well. You can also color code names on pages with a variety of colors for study groups, special assignments or to track attendance. As you look at different kinds of materials, a highlighter can be helpful in remembering the important parts of it you want to remember for future reference.
#6. Never go without a good stapler around plus lots of staples for it. They can be used to bind packets of worksheets, to hang up display items, and even for preventing papers from blowing all over your desk when the window is open.
#7. Scissors should be kept where you can always find them. Keep them sharp so you can slice through big accumulations of of paper easily.
#8 White out has not gone away entirely. You can still buy it in a liquid or tape form. It can be great for teachers to quickly correct papers and fix problems.
#9 Chalk should be something you have but do not assume. You need to have plenty of it ready to go. If you have a white board then you need lots of dry erase markers too.
#10 To keep things on track, a timer will help you . You can use it to time student’s work, for keeping clean up time moving forward and many other things too
Whatever your classroom furniture needs, you can find them at Teacher’s School Supply.

Funny, I've spent the past 2 days swirling in similar thoughts. I've been putting a lot of energy toward writing parent education articles and finding ways to put them out there (blog, twitter, other networking). This quickly becomes all consuming and in conflict with my other desire to be home and available to my little ones – especially while they are little. I don't want to give up writing, but don't want to do it half-assed, either.
Your work is beautiful, Patti! I hope you find the balance.
