Q&A: What kind of educational toys can you buy?
Question by Delly xx: What kind of educational toys can you buy?
Any ideas for a nerdy little 7 year old girl.
Doesn’t want anything ‘fantasy’ or girly for her Christmas, just wants educational stuff and things she’ll learn from.
I am NOT knocking it, btw!
Thanks in advance xx
Her reading test scored as an 11 year old – would a Leapster be any good?
Can you get it for different age?
Thanks MrWolf, I feel guilty calling her nerdy… I should have said brainy

Orchard games/puzzles are great eductional toys, and they’re fun too. You can get these from lots of shops. Really good for all the basic educational stuff; counting, money etc.

Make themed gift.
For example, your theme for her can be “Bookworm.”
Get a cute little box or basket and fill it with novels, sudoku books, crossword puzzles, etc. And you can put in a few packages of gummy worms for a sweet treat! Also, throw in a Borders gift card or something.

Hi.
Lego Technic sets if she is (grrrrrr, dont like to use the word, grrr) nerdy……….. aaaaghhhhhh!
Sorry, any girl who wants to be nerdy, geeky, tom boy or otherwise in the choice of toys …….go for it!!
)
Best toy in the universe at that age, for the enquiring mind, is Lego. Lego Mindstorms is good for older (or more mature) kids.
See links below.
Hope this helps.

Pity you couldn’t get Meccanno sets anymore, I like the Lego Techniks idea though get some of that for her.
