Financial Aid | Can You Graduate Debt Free?
In the recent years we have been experiencing an unprecedented access to higher education. More and more students from all over the country now have the opportunity to attend college regardless of their financial situation, thanks to the ever-rising access to public and private financing opportunities. Every day college students apply for financial aid or a new credit card.
The USA Today, reports that on average the college graduate owes $19,000 on student loan, and an extra $2,700 on credit card debt, for a grand total of $21,700. Take into account that this is just for the undergraduate degree, and in today’s super competitive job market, most students choose to pursue a graduate degree in order to better prepare themselves. So when these students that graduate with over $20,000 in debt go to a masters degree, this number continues to rise. Student debt has become such an epidemic problem, that now society accepts these statistics. We are accepting the fact that in order to go to continue our education, we need to put our future at the mercy of our creditors.
What if I told you that we have an option? What if I showed you a way to take control of your future? Now a day thanks to the marvels of the Internet, there are thousands of people, just like you and me that earn their living online. Most of them received their college education years ago, if they even got one, but we as college students have all of this knowledge that is being bombarded into our brain on a daily basis fresh and ready to use. Now ask yourself this, “Am I using this knowledge to its fullest potential?”
Throughout our duration of our studies we are presented with the optimal scenario to take advantage of the online market. Our institutions provide us with top of the line internet connection, a huge warm market to take our ventures to, support from professionals, your professors, that we already are paying for, and the list goes on and on. Right now, I am about to enter my senior year, and I am on the path to graduating debt free. Now there is a small difference from my particular situation, and the rest of the indebted student population.
I am an international student, this means that tuition is about five times more expensive than it is for a US citizen. And regardless of that I will graduate with a surplus in my personal finances, instead of a deficit. Why? Because I took full advantage of the whole college experience and combined it with the power of the Internet. There are several ways to generate a steady income, and eliminate debt, we just have to open our eyes and look for them.

Financial aid includes grants, loans, and scholarships. Most places do not include scholarships into any estimated financial aid as it will vary on who actually gets the scholarship as only a few people get certain ones. Most likely they are saying that for those schools most people get $7,000 in financial aid including the pell grant, other grants, and loans. Its easy to get the average amount of aid just be middle class. If your parents make a lot of money you'll get a lot less. If they make very little money you'll be able to get more (up to the maximum amount the school will allow you to have).

In the article, “Financial Aid: How it works,” this article talks about how the majority of full time college students end up receiving financial aid and how financial aid works. In the article I learned the federal government or the colleges use formulas to analyze the families financial circumstances and compare them to other families financial circumstances. I learned that there is three types of financial aid and that is grants and scholarships, loans, and work. I also, learned that colleges with higher costs can be affordable. For example, If the college cost $25,000, you can be eligible for $20,000 in aid. The article made me think about how I can get financial aid and how I'll be able to afford going to college. Financial aid is a big help for college students and lets college students go to any college they want without worrying so much about the cost.
