Financial Aid | Effectiveness Of Foreign Financial Aid
Most of the developing countries with economically low income are facing a difficult state. Social and economic investment is the critical requirement of such countries. The government has to deal with two basic aspects to be able to solve the problems related to low income and poverty of the population. They are: mobilizing sufficient revenues to regulate and improve public services, and to improve the effectiveness and clarity of public expenditure.
Though there are several aid projects for the economically poor countries, the effectiveness of these aids reduces due to their low cost. This burdens the administration of such countries to handle the load, and provides no help in forming their own systems to meet demands of public services. Hence, the completion of such projects does not provide sustained results.
According to the Development Assistance Committee (DAC), the characteristics of general budget support is to allow the administration of the beneficiary country to use the financial contributions at its will within the structure of the needs of the program.
The concept of budget support has come into the limelight as a new aid modality for achieving the Millennium Development Goals, thereby resulting in an increase in the effectiveness of the support. In East Asia, attempts are being made to enhance the effectiveness of aid by providing assistance for individual projects, forming association with other countries in the same stream and pooling resources in public funds and foreign direct investments.
Hence, it becomes important to understand and implement the effectiveness of financial aid in light of the foreign countries to help growth across the globe.

You are absolutely correct…..the world of financial aid is very confusing. Without going into it all too deeply…..grants and scholarships are generally money that does not need to be paid back. If you can get these, you are in luck. Two of the best sites for grants and scholarships are:
Pretty much unless your parents are rich, you will need a loan of some kind. Absolutely, positively, the first thing you should do is go fill out the FAFSA which stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid which can be done at:
They will send your school a package which will include Stafford Loans which are the best, because they are subsidized by the federal government. Once your school receives the package, make an appointment and go in to speak with a financial aid advisor.
Private loans are not nearly as good of a deal as federal loans are, but for many, they are the only way to make up the difference as federal loans have limits. If you decide that you need a private loan, check out all the ones out there at:
I would personally suggest a Think Student Loan which can be applied for at:
Good Luck and most of all, choose a school that isn't going to break your bank. For most people, a degree from a cheap school is just as effective as one from Harvard so find the most inexpensive school that has the degree you want.
Hope this has helped and Good Luck…..college is expensive but worth every penny if done correctly.
