Financial Aid | Financial Aid For College Deserves Your Best Efforts
Paying for college can feel like a daunting task, especially with the cost of tuition rising faster than the rate of inflation. Still, potential students should not feel discouraged by the overall cost. There are many scholarships, college grants and other financial assistance packages available for degree candidates. Many of these are need-based, and almost every potential student can find the funding that best suits their lifestyle and education goals.
Rather than give up on the dream of attending college, young people should look for financial aid, especially if they come from middle-to-low-income backgrounds. Because their financial need is more immediate, it is often less difficult for such individuals to obtain funding.
One program aims to encourage those from such backgrounds to stay in school and earn the qualifications that will build the foundations for their future. The Dreamkeepers Emergency Financial Assistance Program, for example, is geared towards helping students who are enrolled in community colleges. It seems to be catching on as a number of major corporations, including Kresge’s and Wal-Mart, have added millions of dollars to this trust fund for its continued assistance.
The funding from this scholarship program is intended to encourage individuals to stay in school and complete their associate’s or bachelor’s degrees. In essence, the scholarships allow these students to start the rest of their lives. Recently, the program was expanded from 31 to 45 community colleges in order to help a wider range of students. Dreamkeepers also has a special mission. It realizes that some students suffer a financial disaster of some type in the middle of their academic career. It provides emergency cash so the student need not drop out.
The majority of individuals planning on attending one of the country’s many schools online or campus-based programs can use financial assistance in the form of scholarships or college grants. If one does not qualify for need-based funding, he or she may be able to find a scholarship that speaks to his or her interests or talents.
There are many sports scholarships available, and individuals can start planning for college before they have picked out their program of study. Even in middle school, if one has a strong interest in a certain sport, that talent can be developed and nurtured. Eventually, this may lead to the student’s school of choice offering funding to play sports at the college level.
On the other hand, those who enjoy volunteer work may find scholarships that reward this. This can be both on the local level, from philanthropic organizations with whom the student has a connection, or nationally-acclaimed programs that aim to help young people make the world a better place. A classic example of this is AmeriCorps.
However, the best way to find existing scholarships to get your associates degree online is to continually ask questions, look online and speak to guidance counselors or college admissions professionals. Staying informed can pay off in the long run, when one finds one’s college loans and payments greatly reduced – or eliminated – thanks to grants and scholarship programs.

Primarily because of the large Jewish-American population in this country, and the influence that particular group has established. I agree with you that we give too much financial support to Israel. This is the main reason we are despised by most Muslim nations. Israel became a nation in 1949. We have helped them ever since then.

I wouldn't worry just yet. They are probably just waiting on you too turn in that paperwork before they finalize all the details.
Plus, you have about two weeks before the deadline so you still have plenty of time.
If you're still concerned, I would suggest calling the financial aid office and talk to them about this issue.
Good Luck in school!
