Re: “it is NOT the grades that seems to be wanting but his financial aid records. ”
Sure, but it does ask for the grades, and the housing records, and some ask for Kindergarten records (which is silly; do you think that he kept them?). If the case were just for the financial aid records, then you could say that he fought the release of his financial aid records, but the case asks for his transcript and housing records and claims that even if he were born in Hawaii and never lost his citizenship (which he didn't), he still would not be eligible because of his father. This shows that it is not a case that simply demands records.

Hi Susan. Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately there are certain requirements that we have to ask our students to complete in order for us to be in compliance with federal and state regulations. Though these seminars and online orientation may seem redundant, many students need to know information about financial aid and what requirements they need to meet in order to continue to receive it. As an office, we want students to be prepared and knowledgeable about the information up front rather than lose out on their financial aid after they have been placed on suspension.
The Financial Aid Orientation should only be taken once. The Survival Guide Online Seminar could be replaced by an appointment with an Academic Counselor.

I work for Children's Administration in the U.S., providing financial aid for college to former foster youth. Two of the youth on my caseload had mental health breakdowns and had to be hospitalized last quarter. They had to withdraw from school, lose their financial aid and find someone to live with while they recovered. There are no breaks for those with mental health issues.

Anyone can qualify for financial "aid" from the government in the form of low interest student loans regardless of income.
Stafford loans are great in that you don't have to start paying on them until after you graduate and in some situations can be forgiven (like if you become a teacher, law enforcement, head start worker, and others… I'll attach the link). You do not have to have to pass a credit check or have a cosigner to get Stafford loans.
Scholarships are always a possibility. Be sure you apply for lots of them and meet all the deadlines.
Good luck.
