Financial Aid | If You Want To Get A Nursing Degree, Then Look For Financial Aids

Today nursing is one of the most sought after, fastest growing and greatly in demand professions in the U.S. If you feel that you would like to be a care giver and be associated with the medical field but have no intentions of being a doctor, why not give nursing a try. Not only does nursing give you the chance to help ailing people, but you get to be part of the most exciting medical field. But nursing schools are not cheap these days and it can be a daunting task to complete your nursing studies without any hassles.

There are many options that like scholarships, grants and financial aids that can help you to complete your nursing degree effectively. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is one other way that you could consider to get financial aid nursing. There is no saying how much you may get as financial help, but ensure that you completely and accurately fill up the FASA as early as tin the first week of January of the year you plan to do your course. The ideal means to fill the application form is through the internet. You will need various papers as proof of income, etc.

On receiving the application your family and financial status will be verified and evaluated to ascertain that you are in fact eligible for the funding and how much you are qualified to get. After the FASA has been processed the details that you give them will be used to calculate the “estimated family contribution” (EFC) which is based on many factors like family size, number of dependents etc.

Once all this has been processed the copies regarding financial eligibility will be sent to the nursing school that you plan on joining, and someone from the finance department of the school will contact you regarding your aid. You will be warded a letter that will tell you exactly how much aid you can get and for what programs they can be used.

Financial aid nursing is a real blessing for nurses who want to pursue higher studies. If you know the correct procedure it will be easy to get it. Click here to know more about financial aid nursing

I think the phrase “My financial aid dept sucks!” is a collective saying among college students. I know my financial aid department HATED me because they were really quick to hold up my registering over a dollar (YES a DOLLAR!) but when they owed me 300 bucks they gave me the run around. Everytime I'd go into that office Id rip someone a new one. Good luck! Hopefully your financial aid dept wont be as awful as mine was!

These courses cost the same as other Valencia courses. Here is information on Valencia's tuition:

For financial aid through Valencia you would need to contact Valencia's financial aid department, it might be a little close to the deadline to receive aid, however the financial aid department could offer you more advice:

You should be able to register for both courses. Because this is a “special topics course” they have the same course number, so that might be causing conflicts in the registration system. If you are trying to and having errors contact Amanda Kern at akern@valenciacc.edu

Sams,
This is a great example of price discrimination. It's especially interesting because so many students around the world including students in our school receive financial aid, and it could be that our peers have a financial aid based tuition system. I think this is quite a fair form of price discrimination most importantly because, all students deserve the right to education even if they come from less wealthier families. Financial aid gives the opportunity to such children to proceed with education despite their lack of funds.

As Kirk points out — the primary source for this “story” makes it clear WHY there is a “requirement” to purchase an iPhone (less expensive) or iPodTouch (more expensive):

It's so that the expenditures qualify as a financial aid expenditure.

It’s the same reason that I make some books “required” in my courses. Universities and professors try to work around financial aid rules to help students — of course, it helps to note (somewhere) that the “requirement” is, in reality, optional. The primary source of this story does just that.

No story. No conspiracy.

Well, there _is_ a story that is being missed. It's the small print micromanaging of eligible financial aid expenditures.
