Financial Aid | Scholarships And Financial Aid Options – Secure A Simple $10,000 Scholarship
Did you graduate High School Summa Cum Laude?
Were you the Valedictorian of your High School class?
Neither was I.
If you are like the majority of us then you weren’t the top of the class and strived to just get a passing grade in all of your classes.
The thought of getting in to a college seemed like such a farfetched dream that I figured all of my options to achieve a degree were closed. As if grades and qualifications were enough, I did not realize how outrageous the cost of a higher education would be. This combination of fact was extremely hard to take in but I managed to do some research that led to my frustrations being resolved. Now only a few years later I am nearly finished with my degree and have discovered ways to use the system in my favor. The numerous options to pay for college are endless but no one ever sits down with you to help you discover your financial options.
My unwavering ambition to accomplish my dream of achieving a higher education degree led me to my search for different ways that I could afford tuition costs.
My findings are as follows:
1. The excellent information is that there are simple grants, scholarships, and financial aid available!!!
2. Designated Scholarships, grants, and financial aid make it even easier for women, minorities, working mothers, single mothers, etc. to receive tuition assistance. Even men and non minorities have plenty of options available (Refer to #4)
3. The U.S. Government’s website, fafsa.edu.gov, is a great starting place to apply for a Pell Grant. Grants do not require you to pay them back but they are awarded based on financial need. Submitting a free application for federal student aid is simple. While there on the site, take a look at the $4,000 TEACH grant designated for those interested in teaching in the public sector.
4. There are several private organizations and companies that are handing millions of dollars to people so that they may return to school this year. Our US government is not the only source for grants, scholarships, and financial aid. There are numerous options available to us that I do not have enough room to list here but the best tools that I found useful have been grant and scholarship search websites. I was a bit skeptical of these sites at first but found that they only collect simple information and, more often than not, have excellent advice about qualifications for a variety of tuition funding sources. I was excited when I found how simple some of them were. My friend passed along a site she recently found that awarded her $10,000 just for filling out their short registration form. The opportunities are wide open to use and it just takes minutes to fill out a little information that can possibly open many doors that we previously thought were closed.
Notice: Numerous simple scholarships, financial aid, and grant programs are available yet it can require a big investment of time to search for them. Please refer to bullet point 4 for the most efficient was to find free money to support your higher education degree.
A Couple of Last Thoughts…
Discovering tons of scholarships and schools that you may have never been introduced to you that may help you in the achievement of your dreams and goals are only an Internet Search Away.
There are continuous searches for more on this subject and I have found a great place to start getting the information on scholarships, grants, and furthering your education on your own time.

"Full financial aid", hunh? She probably did get "full financial aid", but the key thing in all this is that she needs to understand what that actually means. Financial aid consists of two things: grants that you do not have to pay back, and loans, which you do have to pay back. Career schools tend to be expensive, and thus the grants, like the Pell Grant, that you get from the US government via FAFSA won't cover the whole tuition, so you'll have to take out loans.
If she went to a community college (reputable and cheap), it's quite possible that her grants would cover her entire education, and she'd graduate owing nothing. But if she goes to Western Career College, I'd bet dollars to donuts that she'll have to take out a lot of student loans, and she will have to pay those back when she graduates.
The college should have given her a financial aid award letter. The letter will state what she got in grants, and what she got in loans. If you tell her about what the loans are all about, that'll give her an idea for what she's getting herself in for at this school.
