GA_googleFillSlot(“Bellow_Embed_Code”);

if( ! $.cookie(“screen_name”)){$(‘#banner_signup_wide’).css(‘display’, ‘block’);}

In the education system today, reading is more important than ever.  Most school districts have programs like Accelerated Reader – that are implemented to award students points (and grades) for reading a certain amount of words.  They then take comprehension tests on the books they read and get scores on them.  Children normally have a goal based on their reading level.  Additionally, there are plenty incentives for kids who read a million words per school year.  What can make this reading hard is that most of it is independent of the classroom.  While your child’s teacher may still have group books that they the entire class reads and discusses – they are largely responsible for reading at home.  If your child loves to read – then you are in good shape.  However, many parents find that their children would rather do just about anything else than sit down and read a book.

When the reading is forced as homework, it can make this unpleasant task even more difficult.  Parents are then left to find solutions for getting their child to read.  Even more disheartening is that your child can quickly fall behind in their reading levels if they don’t maintain a certain level of reading.  If your child is assigned to read for an allotted time each night or has to read one book a week – you are probably right there hovering over them, setting timers, and pointing your finger so that they will keep their nose in the book.  As your child gets older, this can become a huge point of contention between parent and child.  Unfortunately, though, it will eventually affect their grades and performance in school.

There is no reason to discuss the zillion reasons that reading is vital to your child’s educational success.  You already know this.  The trick if getting them to read things that they enjoy.  In the Accelerated Reading program, there are certain books that children have to read in order to be tested and credited for the material.  Yet, this program has thousands upon thousands of titles.  Your school library may not have but a fraction of these books on their shelves.  Instead of forcing your child to read books about subjects they are not interested in, peruse the readings lists by subject area and find ones that will resonate with your child.  If your child loves baseball – find baseball books.  If they love horses, dragons, mysteries or humor – then look for books in this area.  Additionally, many of the non-fiction books that are packed with interesting pictures of natural events and occurrences can intrigue even the most bored child.

Then, try to allow your child to find times to read that suit them.  Rather than make them come home from school and stick their nose straight into a book – give them some flexibility.  They might read better before bed, or in the car on the way to school.  When you release some of the pressure from the reading experience and allow them to be responsible for it – they may think of it as something beside a power struggle.  Additionally, introduce magazines, newspapers and other periodicals for your child to read.

Another way to get your child reading is to offer a little incentive at home.  Remember – there are plenty of adults who hate to read, so your child is not an educational misfit because they would rather be doing something else.  If you can offer a variety of material and perhaps something special for reading without a struggle, they may realize there is payoff in reading.  You can also try reading a book with them.  Sometimes children don’t like to read because they have a hard time reading quietly and understanding the material.  They may be too embarrassed to tell you or their teacher this.  Yet, if you and your child read a book together, out loud – you can help with their comprehension and interest.

As a parent, you also may have to face the fact that your child will never love to read.  And this is okay.  However, remind them that in life they have to do certain things – whether they want to or not – that are often unpleasant.  If you and your child can talk and agree on finding books and opportunities to read that are more enjoyable for them, you may help win the battle over the books.

A special place where learning comes alive and children thrive, Children of America Educational Childcare is a high-quality childcare service provider with well-developed key age range curriculums committed to nurturing each and every child. Welcoming children from six weeks to 12 years old, Children of America offers a safe and stimulating environment with attentive and responsible teachers that provide the support needed to help them grow and learn.

“All children deserve the very best opportunities in life to succeed physically, socially, emotionally and intellectually,” said Thad Pryor, Children of America president and CEO. “Our primary focus is to engage children by offering a safe environment that is designed to encourage learning and development. We truly are committed to each child’s educational achievements.”

Children of America features child-friendly designs that invoke creativity and imagination. The center’s fun-filled environment combines colorful play areas and learning centers developed specially for each age group program. The skilled teams of teachers are carefully selected based on their childcare experience. They undergo security screenings, have current first aid and CPR certifications and are state-qualified in childcare and education

Safeguarding Your Child

Children of America schools are designed with children in mind offering parents added assurance by utilizing numerous safeguarding programs and equipping all centers with state-of-the-art security systems. Access into the buildings is tracked by a Personal Identification Number (PIN), a code unique to each parent that signals each child’s arrival or departure.

Beyond the center’s borders, parents are just a click away from their children. By logging on to Children of America’s Internet access program, AlwaysCloseBy.com, they can view their child’s daily activities via streaming video on the Web.

Key Age Group Curriculum

Children of America’s proprietary play-oriented programs foster self-esteem, self-confidence and competence in self-help skills necessary for children’s social interactions while laying the foundation for reading, writing and logical thinking. Children are encouraged to discover and learn at their own pace and are encouraged to feel good about themselves and their achievements.

Developed by Dr. Vicki Folds, one of the nation’s leading child development experts with 36 years of hands-on and research experience and several published childcare books, the curriculum engages young minds through a variety of tools such as Tray Tasking, an innovative activity which develops a child’s hand, eye and body movements and is proven to promote early reading and writing skills. Other unique educational activities offered include Baby Signs, Spanish language lessons, Journeys into Early Music and Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening (PALS).

“At Children of America, we encourage children to learn through play,” said Dr. Vicki Folds, company vice president of education and professional development. “Each of our schools provide children a safe haven dedicated to sparking imagination and igniting a passion for learning.”

It has been few months since the landmark discussion of “Education as a fundamental Right” came into force. Policy makers thought that Education and access to education should be for everyone and there is a necessity to declare as fundamental right. Policy makers thought that if children are nurtured and equipped with right education then, India’s future as a strong and prosperous country is secure and only education can change the face of India’s tomorrow.

Central and state Governments joined hands and left no stone unturned in launching and adhering to the new directive, initiatives were taken to ensure that no child is deprived of his fundamental right. Right from recruiting teachers (both on temporary and permanent basis), offering good pay structure as an incentive for getting posted in rural areas, Mid day meal for students and kids attending the school, freebies etc.

Apart from government schooling machinery, all private institutes were summoned for implementing the new directive. The new directives/ norms and standard stats that; All schools have to prescribe to norms and standards laid out in the Act within 3 years, failing to which they will not be allowed to function. Schools have to apply for recognition, failure to which will attract penalty of Rs 1 lakh and further functioning will be liable for 10,000 INR penalties per day.

It will be also mandatory for private schools to enroll children from weaker sections and disadvantaged communities to the extent of 25% of their enrolment. Selection of group of children will be based on simple random selection and no seats of this 25% quota can be left vacant. Children from weaker and disadvantaged communities have to be treated on par with all the other children in the school.

“Right to education” gives a sort of relief to all the patriotic souls, but on the same time raises eyebrows about the exorbitant fee charged by the private schooling institute. Private schools charge heavily under various heads be it admission fee, imprest money or caution money. I remember my good school and college days, my yearly college fees used to be less than today’s kinder garten monthly fees. I’m not telling a 50 years old story it’s hardly 10 years back proposition. Even though if I add inflationary parameters to it still it will be lower.

I wish and pray to government machinery to device some mechanism to put a upper ceiling in the fee structure. One amazing thing which I came across was a 40,000 INR deposit as caution money in the school. Didn’t get the logic….???? what assets does the school has worth 40,000 which they feel is endangered….???? against which they are looking for a collateral,

Hope that this is getting heard and addressed by someone.

This debate has been going on forever it seems. Both private and public schools have their benefits. It depends on a person’s own perception towards education that ultimately decides what they want for their children.

Despite the somewhat expensive tuition costs, there are many benefits of private schools. However public schools cannot be ignored either. Today’s article will pit the two concepts against each other and highlight their positives. This will help parents decide which school to enroll their children in.

Expensive Education vs. Free Education

Nothing can beat public schools when it comes to the cost of learning. It’s free – Paid for in full by the US Government all the way up to 12th grade. What is even more encouraging is the fact that the quality of education at public schools has been getting better and better over the years. This makes public schools a no brainer for many parents.

Quality of Education – The Main Difference

The thing that sets private institutions apart from public ones is the quality of education. Private schools have one single vision in mind – to provide the best possible education to their students by using the latest technology and excellent teaching staff. They carefully screen their teachers to ensure they are up-to-date on the latest teaching trends and possess the necessary academic distinctions required for teaching.

Furthermore, their curriculum is carefully designed to incorporate the highest levels of teaching methodologies. They also have a better student teacher ratio compared to public schools which also improve overall teaching and learning. These are traits not found in public institutions.

Access to Better Facilities, Tools and Equipment

Students at private schools take full advantage of all the amenities provided to them. They have access to better facilities both education and recreational. The libraries contain a healthy volume of books for research and the computer labs are better equipped to assist with projects and daily assignments.

Students are also given ample opportunity to indulge themselves in recreational activities in order to keep a healthy mind. Better gymnasiums, fitness classes and different types of recreational sports are just a few things offered at private institutions.

After School Enrichment Programs

Both public and private schools are big on after school programs. The types of programs however vary from school to school and private institutions tend to stay ahead of the pack, with the diverse, fun and highly productive after school programs designed specifically to enhance student growth both mentally and physically.

When it comes to education, parents certainly have good choices on the table. All schools have to uphold minimum standards of education and teaching as mandated by their respective school districts. With that in mind, both private and public schools provide children with the skills they need to succeed in life. Private schools though, do a much better job of it than its counterpart.

How to educate your child? Which one is the better option, public or private schools? It’s a question which almost every parent faces when making one of the earliest yet a very pertinent decision of their child’s life.

Whereas public education is free, private education demands shelling out thousands of dollars every year. Its cost may range anywhere between twelve thousand to thirty thousand dollars. Are the advantages of private education worth that kind of money?

One of the virtues of private schools is that they offer a safe, small community atmosphere. Private school classrooms are smaller in comparison with public schools and they tend to have a better student to teacher ratio. This allows teachers to give more individual attentions to every child and develop a good and caring personal relationship. It’s been observed that when classes are small children tend to integrate better with their peers and develop more intimate bonds with their friends.

The capacity of raising a tuition fee as well as a lesser degree of political interference and an independent administration allows private schools to provide more facilities and hire better staff. Where many parents fear the lack of strict rules and requirements for hiring teachers in privet schools would lower their standard of education. The truth is that a higher budget allows private schools to hire teachers with advanced degrees and greater experience over teachers with a plain simple education degree.

Private schools usually offer more extracurricular activates and programs. They furnish a more balanced education emphasizing equally on art and sports as well as the required basic course of every grade. From on-stage plays to musicals and better sport facilities, private schools better support students in exploring their talents and enriching their personality.

Compared to public schools the smaller community atmosphere and greater personal attention to each child reduces the chances of any incidents of campus violence and discourage other negative activities such as cutting classes and indulgence in drugs and alcohol.

Parent union and pressure groups have a much more leeway in private schools when compared with their public counterparts. As private schools are independent institution themselves and not subjected to public funding; they enjoy much greater administrative freedom. Unlike public schools, they are not bogged down by bureaucratic policies and are better capable of adapting with changing times. In fact, the primary source of funding for private schools is the parents and hence they are more likely to give value to their opinion and suggestions.

It’s the duty of public schools to provide education to each and every child and seeking education is every child’s right. This idea however noble it may seem, restricts public school from taking the extreme disciplinary action of expulsion for errant students. The same is not true when it comes to private schools; which act as a blessing in disguise. Though expulsion is quite rare even in private schools, the mere threat of one deters kids from indulging in unsociable activities.

The choice, in the end is yours to make but bear in mind that the school your child goes to plays a great role in shaping the man/woman they grow up to be.

There was a time when the idea of private schools would garner a rather lackluster response from people and it was conveniently discarded to the “if you can afford it then go for it” category. Times have changed since then. Private institutions have revolutionized the schooling system and have taken the art of teaching to new heights. Today’s article will focus on some of their benefits that would help parents determine whether they should send their child to one.

1. Private Schools are Affordable

Private schools no longer come with the insanely high price tag they used to. Their tuition cost has either been holding steady in some states or has dropped altogether across the United States. Furthermore, the quality of education and teaching has significantly improved leaving public schools way behind.

Nothing can beat free education from public schools. In order to stay competitive, private institutions offer low tuition and numerous other facilities to attract prospective students.

2. Exceptional Teaching Staff

Private schools are renowned for their superior staff both educational and administrative. They go through painstaking efforts to ensure that they employ the cream of the crop when it comes to teachers. These teachers are carefully selected and checked for specific skills related to teaching.

A good teacher is essentially a treasure trove of knowledge and information that any child can benefit immeasurably from. They are also instrumental is determining any deficiencies or health/learning issues that a child may be going through and provide counseling as to how to eliminate them.

3. Excellent Curriculum

A good curriculum is one that focuses on all aspects of human growth and development. It should give sufficient emphasis on both body and mind in order to make the learning process fun for young and teenage students. Private institutions take pride in their curriculum. They design it to appeal to parents and prospective students.

4. Productive Educational Programs

These schools incorporate healthy and productive learning practices and bundle it with adequate recreational and education programs. This in turn has a huge positive effect on students as it keeps them involved in different fun activities and avoids monotonous boring routines.

5. Healthy Teacher Student Ratio

The one problem with public schools is that they have fairly high teacher student ratio compared to private schools. Many parents are concerned about this particular number. They want their child to get sufficient interaction time with teachers in order to properly express themselves.

Private institutions put great emphasis on teacher student ratio because they understand the importance of student teacher interaction.

Sending a child to private schools is a very viable and affordable option nowadays. Granted that they assign more school work than public schools, it only works to make them better students. Parents should nevertheless do their share of research and attend open houses organized by private institutions when debating private schools.

Do you know how to write essays that look professional? Obviously every student thinks that they have written professional essays but actually they have not because there are some standards and if you r essay is not able to meet those standards then there is no way you have written professional essays.

The first and the foremost essential to check if it is a professional essay is the quality of the composition, if it is defined well then your essay would look professional from every angle and in order to compose good professional essay you need to understand the dynamics of essay diagram.

There are many component of essay diagram that you should know if you want to write quality essays, following is the essay outline diagram that would assist you in writing good essays

Introduction

Body paragraph

Conclusion

Introduction:

The introductory session is divided into three parts that are:

Opening statement:

Opening statement is a very important part of essay diagram; you will have to write a statement that will help to engage a reader in your essay till the end. You can do this by using a quote or any emotional statement that touches the reader.

Subject matter:

If you are writing a personal essay then you subject matter could be your thoughts and beliefs while if you are writing a casual essay then you would require writing whys and wherefores.

Thesis statement:

This is a short statement that will tell the readers about the main subject of the essay so it should be sturdy enough to grab the attention of the reader.

Body paragraphs:

It can also be categorized into the following components:

Topic sentence:

It is a single controlling idea that begins a paragraph in the body and it is written for the purpose to provide support for the thesis statement.

Arguments:

Provide sturdy arguments in order to prove that your claim was right and make sure whatever you are saying have a valid reason behind it otherwise you won’t be able to convince the reader.

Evidence:

You have to provide every evidence for what you are saying, for example if you are saying that smoking is becoming common in youth day by day then you will have to state the facts and figures about the increasing smoking habits.

Conclusion:

Your essay diagram is incomplete without a conclusion; make sure you are incorporating the following elements in the conclusion.

Restating the thesis statement:

You must restate the thesis statement so as to make them remember that your claim was right.

Restating the important points:

Here, you would be writing the major points you discussed in the essay earlier in the form of a short summary.

Concluding the essay:

An ideal way to finish the essay is to provide your personal opinion about the topic and the thesis statement.

Hence, essay diagram is very important for writing a professional essay because without a proper outline you won’t be able to deal with the intricacies of writing and eventually end up with bad grades.
